Role Value Proposition:
This position is an Individual Contributor role in MetLife’s U.S. Compliance organization Program’s team specifically responsible for developing and maintaining the U.S. Privacy Compliance program supporting Group Benefits; Retirement & Income Solutions; MetLife Holdings: Worldwide Benefits; and Property & Casualty businesses. The individual is required to independently manage and develop new/enhanced compliance programs supporting U.S. Privacy from initial stages through implementation. This individual leads initiatives to educate business unit managers and associates on the Company’s U.S. Privacy compliance program and advises business units on best practices and the most efficient means to implement them. The position also requires continuous monitoring and evaluation of current processes in order to improve efficiency and report deficiencies.
Key Responsibilities: (5 bullets)
Senior level subject matter expert who independently manages the U.S. Business Privacy Program
Expert knowledge of privacy risk and testing protocols
Leads projects related to developing or enhancing compliance tools that support complex compliance projects
Provides support to Privacy Champions and direction from MetLife’s Corporate Privacy Office (MCPO) to implement the U.S. Privacy Program procedures/best practices to support compliance and avoid future concerns
Continually monitors and evaluates the U.S. Privacy Program Management program to improve efficiency and confirm compliance
Leads initiatives to educate business unit managers and associates on the Company’s compliance program.
Prepares executive reports and metrics for management.
Leads the quarterly risk management sign-off discussions and works closely with the Compliance Risk Management Program lead and MCPO to communicate program assessments
Assists less experienced Compliance Analysts and Consultants
Performs other duties as required
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: (5 -7 bullets)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Privacy Certifications such as IAPP, CIPP a plus
8+ years’ experience
Strong professional judgement
Expert oral and written communication
Must be highly motivated, adaptable to change, and detail oriented
Advanced knowledge of U.S. Privacy rules and regulatory requirements
Advanced analytical, problem solving, technical and functional expertise
Ability to influence at various levels within the organization
Strong ability to adapt communication styles appropriately for the program or audience
